My Games of 2025 in Numbers

Data and numbers are kind of my thing (according to rumours it’s even my day job), but this year will be the first year where these stats will be public and not just shared around in my groups!

Game Stats

This year I GMed 31 systems, 17 of which were new to me.

My most GMed games were:

  1. Pathfinder 2e
  2. Cyberpunk Red
  3. The One Ring 2e

I ran 115 games, that’s 33 more than last year!

Counting the games I played in brings the number of systems up to 55!

I was a player in a total of 52 sessions, 11 more than in 2024.

I actually had the resolution to play less, I definitely failed at that one. I’m having a lot of fun, but next year I will also take some more time for myself (hopefully).

number of games run per year

I finished two of my campaigns this year:

I started two new campaigns:

And ongoing is one more of my campaigns:

49% of my games are campaigns and the rest of them one-shots. 8% of my one-shots have been playtests of my own games.

pie chart of session types

About 77% of my games are home games with my friends, the GM Supergroup Vienna and afterwork games, which I consider private games. The rest I’ve run were at events from Paradice, the 3W6 convention and I was also lucky enough to run a game at the FM4 Spielekammerl.

But enough about me, let’s have a look at my lovely players! For privacy reasons the names have been shortened, but I’m sure they’ll recognize themselves here.

And some of them were just as curious about trying out different systems as I was:

I have run games for a total of 118 players, who played 244 different characters. The characters with the most game time have been:

But not all characters made it out alive.

legend for character deaths

I do have a clear favourite GM, with 18 sessions played at his table. We played two campaigns this year, one of them we finished:

  1. “Rainmaker” in Salvage Union, finished after 9 sessions and roughly 10 months
  2. “Odyssey of the Dragonlords” in Pathfinder 2e, which is still ongoing

Superlatives

Some superlatives as suggested by the Endie Awards and some more inspired by MixUpPixels!

Game Most Likely to Be on My Mind Still in 2026

The One Ring 2e

I have a lot of non-game things on my plate next year, but this will be the campaign I will continue.

Favorite Playtested Game

Blades ‘68

I registered for the playtest of Blades ‘68 this year and ran a handful of great games in it. I very much look forward to this releasing!

PDF Game I Need for My Shelf

Fight or Fright!

Surprisingly hard to get a hold of in Vienna! But I’m on it!

Game That Made a Comeback

Avatar Legends

my Avatar campaign died last year due to a couple splitting up and I had some doubt regarding the rules. I’ve been playtesting some adventures for Avatar recently and I’m really enjoying it! I think I finally clicked with the system.

Game of the Year

Paint the Town Red

This was definitely my highlight game this year. It’s a breeze to run both as a one-shot and a campaign and there hasn’t been a single session that I didn’t enjoy yet.

Itch Stats

This was also the year I started making my own games! I published 5 games on itch, across all of them having 839 views, 255 downloads and 16 ratings (with an average rating of 5.0!). They can be found here if you mind checking them out and maybe even leaving a review.

Blog Stats

My blog was also born this year with a total of 21 posts (including this one) and 773 views (as of 2025-12-16). The most popular posts were:

  1. Review of the Changes in the Alien RPG's Evolved Edition
  2. Table-Tested Review of "Raiders of the Serpent Sea”
  3. Playing With Care: A Guide to RPG Safety Tools

Conclusion

So what’s to come in the next year? I will keep playing The One Ring 2e and probably can’t be stopped from trying new systems. But I also have some big personal projects coming up, so it’s still open how much time for games can be made. But knowing me, I’ll manage.

A big thank you to everyone running, playing and making games around me, you are what makes this hobby so amazing. I’ve seen everyone do great things and I’m very much looking forward to another year of great games.
